Quickstart
From a new account to a published article, in about fifteen minutes.
This is the shortest complete path: connect a site, check your brand kit, publish one article by hand, and confirm it arrived. Everything after that runs on its own.
Time
About 15 minutes
You need
Admin access to your website
You get
One live article and a working pipeline
Connect your website#
Open Settings → Publishing. Pick your platform and the wizard walks you through it — most take three minutes, Shopify takes ten because its app setup is longer.
WordPress
Our plugin, or an application password. The plugin is easier and does more.
Webflow
An API token with CMS read and write. Site and collection are detected for you.
Something else
Shopify, Wix, Ghost, Framer and more — or we host the blog for you.
Note
No supported platform? Blog hosting puts your articles on blog.yourdomain.com with one DNS record, and they still link back to your main site.
Check your brand kit#
Citeca fills this in by reading your site, so it is usually close. Skim it and fix anything wrong — this is the input every article is written against.
- Who you sell to. A tool for finance teams and a tool for students produce different articles.
- What you actually sell. Especially the parts your homepage undersells.
- Claims you can make. Certifications, guarantees, numbers you are happy to see in print.
- Words to avoid. Competitor names, regulated phrasing, internal jargon.
Publish your first article#
- 1
Open Blog content
Your calendar has planned articles with dates. Open the first one that is finished.
- 2
Read it, edit anything
Full editor: rewrite a paragraph, change the title, swap the hero image. The article score on the right updates as you go.
- 3
Press Publish
It goes to every connected destination at once. You get back a link per destination, or the exact error if one refused.
Confirm it worked
4 checks
- The panel at the top of the editor lists your destination with a Live badge.
- The View link opens the article on your own domain.
- The article appears in your CMS — in WordPress under Posts, in Webflow under your blog collection.
- Headings, images and links all survived the trip.
That’s the whole setup
From here Citeca publishes on schedule without being asked. Turn auto-publish off if you would rather approve each one.
How publishing worksIf something went wrong#
Publishing errors are reported verbatim, including the status code and the response from your platform, because a paraphrased error is a wasted support ticket. Every message we have seen is listed with its fix.
