Site traffic is still being built. This page describes how it will work once it is available in your dashboard.
Most analytics lumps every referrer together and leaves you unable to tell whether the work is paying off. This splits classic search traffic from AI-engine traffic so both are legible.

AI citation traffic#
Under AI search traffic: visitors who arrived from an assistant — ChatGPT, Perplexity, Claude, Copilot and the rest — identified by referrer, with which pages they landed on.
- Which engines are actually sending people.
- Which articles are being quoted, which is the clearest signal of what to write more of.
- Growth over time, which matters more than any single week.
This undercounts, and always will
A citation without a click leaves no referrer, and plenty of assistants answer without sending anyone anywhere. Treat this as a floor on your visibility, not a measure of it — AI visibility is the better gauge of whether you are being named.
Google traffic#
Impressions, clicks, average position and the queries behind them, per page. Connect Search Console and this fills in with your own data rather than an estimate.
What to watch#
- 1Impressions first. They move weeks before clicks do, and they are the first sign indexing is working.
- 2Then landing pages. A published article picking up impressions is the pipeline proving itself.
- 3Then AI referrals. Small numbers at first; the direction is the point.
- 4Then position. The slowest to move and the least worth checking daily.
