GoHighLevel

Connect GoHighLevel to Citeca and publish articles automatically.

Connect GoHighLevel and Citeca publishes finished articles straight into it — live, or as drafts for you to review first.

Setup time

About 4 minutes

Access needed

Admin on the site or store

What we touch

Blog posts only

Note

This connection can only read and publish blog posts. Your theme, products and settings are never modified.

What you need#

  • Access to the GoHighLevel sub-account the blog belongs to
  • A blog in that sub-account (Sites → Blogs, we link you there)
  • One Private Integration token with the seven blog permissions

Tick the blog permissions one by one

In the scope list, type “blog” and tick the seven lines that appear. Don’t use Select all: that gives the token access to your whole account.

Connecting GoHighLevel#

Open Settings → Publishing, find GoHighLevel and press Connect. The wizard walks you through the steps below.

  1. 1

    Before you start

One quick check. The whole setup takes about 4 minutes.

    • Confirm: I can sign in to the GoHighLevel sub-account the blog belongs to
    • Open that sub-account in another tab (not the agency view), then come back here.
    • Each sub-account connects on its own. Use one Citeca business per sub-account.

    Note

This connection can only read and publish blog posts. Your theme, products, and settings are never touched. You’ll copy two things from GoHighLevel: the address of your sub-account and one token.

  2. 2

    Your GoHighLevel address

So the next buttons open your own sub-account.

    • GoHighLevel address — Copy the address from your browser while you’re inside the sub-account. We only need the part after /location/.
    Open GoHighLevel
  3. 3

Make sure you have a blog

Articles go into a blog in your sub-account. Skip this if you already have one.

    • Confirm: I have a blog in this sub-account
    • No blog yet? Click New blog site, give it a title, and click Create blog.
    • Pick your domain under “Domain and slug” so posts get a public address. No domain yet? Add it later; we link your articles once it’s there.
    Open my Blogs
  4. 4

    Create a Private Integration

This gives Citeca permission to write blog posts, and nothing else.

    • Click Create new integration, name it
    • Click Next. In “Select scopes”, type
    • Tick all seven lines that appear (Create, Update, Check slug, Categories, Authors, Posts, Blog list), then click Create.
    • GoHighLevel shows your token once. Click Copy. It starts with
    Open Private Integrations

    Heads up

Tick the seven blog lines one by one. Don’t use “Select all”: it gives the token access to everything in your account.

  5. 5

    Paste your token

We check it with GoHighLevel on connect, so a green check means publishing works.

    • Private Integration token — The token from the “Your private integration was created” box.
  6. 6

    Blog address & publishing

Last details: where your blog lives, and whether articles go live by themselves.

    • Blog domain (optional) — The domain your GoHighLevel blog is on. It gives each article a “View” link. Leave it empty if the blog has no domain yet.
    • Publish immediately — Articles go live on your GoHighLevel blog on their scheduled day.
    • Save as draft — Articles arrive as drafts in GoHighLevel for you to review and publish.

GoHighLevel is connected

We can reach your blog. New articles publish to it automatically on their scheduled day.

Check it worked#

Verify it’s working

3 checks

  • The GoHighLevel card shows Connected.
  • Your first article is in Sites → Blogs → your blog → Blog posts, marked Published.
  • With a domain on the blog, it opens at yourdomain.com/post/your-article.

To test without waiting for a scheduled article, open any finished article in Blog content and press Publish. You get a result per destination immediately, including the exact error if something is wrong.

Managing the connection#

Once connected, the GoHighLevel card shows a green Connected dot and a Manage button. Everything about the connection is changed from there — there are three controls.

  • Test connection — checks the credentials against GoHighLevel right now. If they fail you get the platform’s own response, not a generic message.
  • Reconnect — walks through the setup again. This is how you paste a rotated token, publish somewhere else, or change whether articles go live or wait as drafts. It replaces what is stored rather than adding a second connection.
  • Disconnect — deletes the stored credentials and stops publishing. Articles already published stay on your site untouched, and your drafts and schedule in Citeca are kept.

Note

When something fails you get a plain explanation and the steps to fix it. The platform’s own response — status code, endpoint and response body — is folded away under Details for support; “Copy error report” puts all of it in one paste for a support message.

Troubleshooting

Questions#

Which address do I paste?

Any page of the sub-account, copied from your browser. It contains /location/ followed by the ID we need. Use the sub-account, not the agency view.

It says no blog was found.

Create one: Sites → Blogs → New blog site → give it a title → Create blog. Then connect again.

My article shows “Needs a domain”.

It’s published in GoHighLevel, but the blog has no domain, so it has no public address yet. In GoHighLevel open your blog → Edit blog site → Domain and slug, pick your domain, and add the same domain to the connection.

I lost the token.

GoHighLevel shows it once. Delete the integration in Settings → Private Integrations and create a new one.

Where do I change whether articles go live or stay as drafts?

Press Manage on the connection’s card in Settings → Publishing, then Reconnect, and answer the live-or-draft step differently. It applies to that connection only, so your other destinations are unaffected.

What happens if I regenerate the credentials?

The old ones stop working immediately and publishing fails with an authentication error. Press Manage on the card, then Reconnect, and paste the new ones — that replaces the old credentials rather than adding a second connection.

Can I disconnect without losing published articles?

Yes. Disconnecting only deletes the credentials we stored. Everything already published stays exactly where it is, because those are posts in your own CMS.

Will publishing the same article twice create a duplicate?

No. Articles are matched on their slug, so republishing updates the existing post rather than adding a second one.
