Terms of Service

The agreement between citeca, inc. (“we”, “us”) and you. No traps, no auto-charge surprises, no 50-page click-throughs.

Effective May 25, 2026

The service

citeca is a software platform that audits your business’s visibility inside AI search engines, drafts content + technical fixes to improve that visibility, and (when you connect integrations) publishes those fixes on your behalf. The platform is provided as-is; we don’t guarantee specific citation outcomes. AI engines change ranking signals weekly and no vendor can promise placement.

Your account

You confirm you’re authorised to act on behalf of the business you sign up. You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials safe and for anything posted through connected integrations using your credentials.

You retain ownership of all content we generate and publish on your behalf. It’s yours, no licensing strings, no attribution required.

Billing

Subscriptions renew monthly (or annually if you chose that). You’ll be charged on the same calendar day each cycle. Cancel anytime from Settings → Billing; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period (you keep access until then). No partial refunds for unused days inside a period.

Founding-customer pricing is locked for 12 months from your signup date, then renews at standard tier pricing. We’ll email you 30 days before the change.

AI engine API calls, press release distribution, and any third-party integration costs that go through your own account (e.g. PRNewswire) are your responsibility. The citeca subscription only covers our platform fees.

Acceptable use

Don’t use citeca to generate or publish content that is illegal in your jurisdiction, that infringes others’ intellectual property, that you don’t have the right to publish, or that’s designed to mislead readers (fake reviews, fake credentials, etc.). The FTC’s 2024 fake- reviews rule applies to your AI-generated content the same as everything else.

We may suspend accounts that misuse the platform. Usually with warning, but immediately if there’s clear legal exposure.

What we promise

We promise to run your audits honestly (real API calls, no gamed numbers), publish only what you’ve approved or explicitly opted-in to auto-publish, and keep your secrets encrypted at rest. We promise to give 14 days’ notice of any material change to this agreement.

We do not promise specific citation counts, traffic numbers, conversion rates, or business outcomes. AI engine rankings shift constantly; we can stack the deck for you but the deck still gets shuffled.

Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by law, citeca, inc. and its subprocessors are not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the platform. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the amount you’ve paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim. This isn’t a sneaky clause. It’s the standard SaaS limit and the only way we can offer per-month subscriptions without 5x-ing the price for legal insurance.

Termination

Either of us can end this agreement at any time. If you cancel, access continues until the end of your paid period and your data is retained for 30 days in case you come back. After that, everything is deleted. See the Privacy Policy for the deletion details.

Governing law

This agreement is governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, USA, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute we can’t resolve over email goes to the state or federal courts of Delaware.
